We traveled to Cooke Park for a vital league game for both teams in the hunt for the league title, in a game played in freezing conditions and on a very hard pitch both teams deserve great credit for producing the football they did, the home team started the brighter and had the better of most of the early exchanges, however we settled into the game after the initial twenty minutes and started to play some good attacking football with Cormac Crowe coming closest to breaking the deadlock when he crashed a shot against the cross bar.
The second half was a more open affair with both teams going for the three points, the home team took the lead ten minutes into the half, to our credit we regained control of the game and got a deserved equaliser with twenty minutes remaining when Cormac Crowe calmly finished when put through by Michael Hickey, despite dominating the remainder of the game and creating some good chances we couldn't find the winner as the game finished level.
TEAM: Aaron Wall, Simon Williams, Pa Fitzgearld, John O' Reilly, Eanna O' Gorman Mikey Byrne, Shane Tobin, Seamus Read, Shane Murphy, Michael Hickey, Eoin Byrne.
SUBS: Cormac Crowe for Shane Tobin, Eddie Kendrick for Michael Hickey.
SCORER: Cormac Crowe.
