Youths  3 -  1  Clonmel Town

Match Report

We opened our league campagain with a trip to Clonmel Town. We started the game much the brighter and playing some good football we kept our opponents on the back foot for much of the half, eventually our pressure finally paid off on the half hour mark when Andy Wallace tapped home a rebound when the Town keeper parried a Mikey Byrne long range shot. Town equalised almost straight from the kick off. We managed to get back on top again and Shane Murphy put us back in front with an excellent fee kick right on the stroke of half time.
Into the second half and we continued to dominate the game even tho our hosts tried everything to get back into the game but our defence stood up to everything they could throw at them, with twenty minutes left we finally killed the game when Mikey Byrne scored from the penalty spot to leave the final score Three One.
