A goal for Town inside the opening 10 mins, gave the Park a wake up call in a game they started poorly, however despite controlling much of the game and several missed chances the Park failed to equilise, Town held their lead into the second half. The Park determined to get back into the game, created several chances but an inspired Town Keeper (Man of the Match) made several fine saves and with time running out an under pressure Town side held out to win and prevent this very strong Park side winning a four in a row of Tipperary Cups. A third league title secured a week earlier will have to do for this season.
