U13 win Three in Row League Title
A bright and Sunny Saturday morning down the Park saw the U13s crowned League Champions with a 4-2 win over Clonmel Town. David Finnane struck early following a slip by the Town Keeper and the game saw some excellent football before the visitors levelled on 15mins. Gerry Cronin restored the lead on half time, only to see town level again 5 mins after the restart. But the Park unwilling to settle for a point which would have been enough the win the Title, pushed forward and Tom Kirwans headed goal with 15min reamining sank Town hearts. Gerry Cronin was on hand again to put the game and the Championship beyond Towns reach when he rifled home from insde the area, with 5 min to go. The excellent football on display by both sides throughout the entire game was a credit to all players coaches and clubs involved.
The two sides meet again next Sat 9th May in Bansha to contest the Tipp Cup Final.
No douth the Town boys will be desperate to stop Cahir Park winning their Fourth Tipp Cup in as many years. Another great game is eagerly awaited by all.
