Our Munster cup campagin got under way with a trip to Saint Nicholas. We started very well and dominated the game from the very start, we created a host of chances in the opening twenty minutes but a combination of poor finishing and some good goal keeping kept the game scoreless. We finally got the break through with five minutes left in the half when Andy Wallace headed home a Cormac Crowe corner to leave the half time score one nil.
Into the second half and after five minutes it looked like our first half wastefulness would cost us when the home team equalised after we failed to clear a corner. We recovered well and got back on top and twenty minutes later we found ourselves ahead for the second time when Seamnus Read drilled home a shot from the edge of the area, we dominated the remainder of the game and it was made save with fifteen minutes left when Mark Short fired home from twelve yards with his first touch after coming on as a sub, there was no further score as we ran out three one winners.
