We traveled to Tipperary to take on Saint Michaels for a place in the open draw of the FAI junior, the game started at a frantic pace with the home team having the best of the opening exchanges put our excellent defence kept the saints attack at bay, we grew more into the game as our midfield got on top and we put the home team under pressure with both Benny Ryan and Shane Murphy both going close during our best spell in the first half, the last fifteen minutes of the half was very even, we had Brian Enright to thank for keeping us level with a great save from Paul Breen as the half ended scoreless.
The second half was again a very tight affair with every fifty fifty ball hotly fought for, we fell behind on the hour mark when a low cross into the box fell kindly for the Saints forward to fire to the net, to our credit we fought hard to get the equaliser as we put the home team under severe preassure for the last ten minutes, in the last minute only a last ditch block from Paul Breen prevented Benny Ryan from forcing the game into extra time. All the players gave there all for the entire game as should be very proud of there efforts.
